Safety Training

Southern Minnesota ATV Riders are proud to be able to offer safety training for kids as well as adults. We as a club believe in the value of safe and educated riders. This not only helps prevent injuries especially to kids, but is of great value in helping to keep the riding of ATV's open in our state. We currently have 3 certified instructors at this time.  

To get started in the training program, youths are required to go through the at-home training. A CD for this part can be obtained by calling the Minnesota DNR at 1-800-646-6367.  Once this step is completed you may register for the second part of training.  This will include a review of the CD which is followed by a driving test on a closed course.  The youth will be checked to make sure that they fit the machine and have the ability to operate the machine safely.

If you have any other questions about training please feel free to contact one of the instructors and they would be more than happy to help.  Classes are scheduled on a needed basis and setup when instructors are available to teach the course.  If you would need something special please contact an instructor.
